Strange first day.
Bit of a strange day, started off ok but got to Seahouses and found the boats to the Farne Islands were cancelled due to rough seas, tried hard but the captain would not be persuaded! So We called the Sealife centre at North Berwick and got ourselves booked on the Sealife Safari boat trip to the Bas Rock Gannet colony, shot up the coast and arrived to find they had double booked us and we couldn't go!
So we had a leisurely drive to South Queensferry in Edinburgh to take pictures of the Firth of Forth Bridges. Weather improved greatly but we couldn't park near the rail bridge as an ocean liner had pulled up and was dumping its passengers there. Still got some nice shots off, and had a chance to play with graduated filters too.
Then we decided to go and see the Falkirk wheel, as the light was good. Sadly it had closed for the day but was impressive nonetheless.
Back to Edinburgh to find our digs, which are comfy and clean and right under the Firth of Forth railway bridge, earplugs are the order of the day. Out for a quick fish and chips, then off to the road bridge viewing point only to find the police had roped it off as someone was trying to end it all by jumping into the river from the road bridge.
So back to digs and time for sleep, hope tomorrow is a bit more straightforward.
