I've had a it of luck in that I've been in contact with my daughters ex Karate instructor, and it looks like we may be able to set up a shoot with him and his instructor team.  I trained years ago (many years ago) so understand the power and beauty of this martial art and am looking forward to trying to capture this in ways that are innovative. 

A quick thrash around the internet yielded very few "interesting" rather than straight forward shots, so its either really tough to do or no one has really tried to do it before (I find that hard to believe).

So for the first time ever I've been sitting down and drawing out (with my rubbish drawing), the final image and then the position of lights, camera, reflectors and backgrounds etc I think I may need.

I've come up with about 7 to 8 different shots so it could take a while to set up on the night but I'm really excited about this opportunity.   Not sure when I can do it as off skiing next week, then off to Iceland the week after.

As the shoot will all be indoors it'll all be lit with Flash so the www.strobist.com website has been useful.  Watch this Space!
